Audi TFSI engines were the first to combine petrol direct injection and turbocharging to provide greater power with reduced fuel consumption. A TFSI four-cylinder engine delivers fantastic performance using up to 15% less fuel. Fuel is injected directly into the combustion chambers, so it produces a higher mixture density. This means greater compression, thereby improving efficiency and effectiveness. TFSI engines produce more power with less fuel so it’s no surprise that it was voted Engine of the Year in 2008 - the fourth time in succession. Source:
