Grand stage for the Audi RS 5 at the Formula 1 race in Singapore

This coming weekend (October 9–11), Audi will compete in a Formula 1 night race for the first time. As part of the Singapore Grand Prix, the new Audi RS 5 will also have a grand stage to mark its market launch in overseas markets – featuring a special design that captures the unique atmosphere of the Asian metropolis. Strong start for the new Audi RS 5 in Europe Audi’s new RS model has had a remarkable market launch: the entire annual production for 2026 is already sold out. The number of orders on the European market is nearly twice as high as originally expected, underscoring the positive response from European customers. Now comes the next step: The Audi RS 5 – produced at the Audi plant in Neckarsulm – is now also available outside of Europe. Sales are launching in Australia and New Zealand, markets that have traditionally been particularly enthusiastic about Audi Sport. Sales will begin simultaneously in Japan, followed by Korea, Taiwan, and other overseas markets. Audi uses Formula 1 as a showcase for the RS 5 As Audi Sport’s first high-performance plug-in hybrid, the RS 5 – much like Audi’s Formula 1 involvement – embodies the fusion of electrification and performance. This is another reason why the company repeatedly uses Formula 1 as a showcase for the RS 5. Both the Avant1 and Sedan2 are showcased at select races as part of the racing series’ ‘Hot Lap’ program, along with other events. Special design inspired by Singapore at night To mark its market launch in Singapore, the 470 kW (639 hp) plug-in hybrid12 also bears a strong visual resemblance to the Audi R26 of Audi Revolut F1 Team. The new RS 5 is an integral part of numerous promotional activities surrounding the first night race of the Formula 1 season, which Audi is celebrating with a special design: The two Audi R26 race cars driven by Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto will take the track in the Asian metropolis, featuring a variant of the brand’s new signature Titanium Silver Gray color inspired by Singapore at night. The color translates Singapore’s shifting light into a unique design. Its bluish shimmer is inspired by twilight and the reflections of the illuminated architecture at Marina Bay. Under the track lighting, the visual effect of the color changes as the car moves, gaining depth. The new Audi RS 5 will also be on display in this special color – for example, at the famous Funan Mall at the entrance to the race track and at the Audi House of Progress on Cross Street. Audi honors Singapore’s culture with special livery The Formula 1 team is taking it a step further: The special livery on both race cars also draws inspiration from the traditional local tile culture with its colorful, ornamental Peranakan patterns, thereby honoring Singapore as a cultural melting pot. The design reflects the city’s diversity and its multifaceted visual influences. The drivers’ racing suits also feature the same design. Under the motto ‘The Art of Influence,’ the team, together with its partners, is planning numerous on-site activities for fans during race week, ranging from culinary collaborations to community events such as a run and public viewings. adidas is once again offering a matching collection as a special drop. The Singapore Grand Prix begins on Sunday at 8 PM local time (2 PM in Germany). Conclusion At the first night race of the Formula 1 season, Audi is unveiling its new Audi RS 5. Audi Sport’s first high-performance plug-in hybrid is celebrating its market debut in overseas markets in a special color, which is also part of the special livery on the two Audi R26 race cars driven by Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto. 50 years of driving pleasure, now electric: Volkswagen launches pre-sale of the ID. Polo GTI

Volkswagen is starting a new chapter in the 50-year history of the GTI: Pre-sale of the all-new ID. Polo GTI begins today, Wednesday. The first all-electric model with the GTI label brings the legendary GTI driving pleasure into the electric future: with spontaneous response, precise handling and a sporty, confident appearance. The 166 kW (226 PS) compact sports car is available with extensive standard equipment from 39,995 euros. The new ID. Polo GTI takes the basic idea of the first Golf GTI from 1976 into the electric future. Its maximum torque of 290 Nm is available without delay. As a result, the ID. Polo GTI accelerates from standstill to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds. Based on customer feedback, the maximum speed was set at 190 km/h. Like its predecessors, it transfers its power to the road via the front wheels. An electronically controlled front axle transverse differential lock distributes the power to the front wheels in a targeted manner and supports the ID. Polo GTI particularly when cornering. The standard equipment also includes a specially tuned progressive steering system and the adaptive DCC sports suspension. Their interaction ensures that even the first electric GTI feels like a real GTI. The GTI wakes up at the push of a button. Volkswagen has developed the new “GTI” driving profile for particularly dynamic moments. A press of a button on the sports steering wheel is all it takes to tune the electric drive, steering and suspension for maximum sportiness. For this purpose, a specially developed GTI sound starts, while the cockpit changes to its own colour and graphic world. This makes the character of the vehicle not only tangible, but also visible. A GTI at first glance. The red stripe on the front, the typical honeycomb pattern and the standard 19-inch light-alloy wheels pick up on well-known GTI features and reinterpret them. There are also “IQ.LIGHT - LED matrix headlights”, illuminated Volkswagen logos (front and rear), a split roof edge spoiler and the distinctive three letters on the front, rear and side sills. Inside, red contrasting seams, a red 12 o'clock marking on the sports steering wheel and standard-fit top sports seats create a sporty atmosphere. The seat covers transfer the traditional check pattern of earlier GTI models to the present day. Endurance meets dynamism. The energy for the electric front-wheel drive is supplied by a battery with a net energy capacity of 52 kWh, which enables a WLTP range of up to 431 km. The navigation system includes the e-route planner, which automatically plans necessary charging stops along the route. At DC rapid charging stations, the ID. Polo GTI has a charging capacity of up to 105 kW. Thanks to its constant charging curve, the battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in around 24 minutes. Digital time travel in the cockpit. The digital cockpit landscape is clearly structured. The 10.25-inch “Digital Cockpit” and the central 12.9-inch infotainment display lie on one visual axis. The “retro display” creates a special connection to the history of the GTI: Graphics in the style of the instruments of a late Golf I are available on request. Even the music playback takes up the lifestyle of the 1980s and represents the current track as a cassette. GTI - sporty and also suitable for everyday use. Thanks to its compact electric drive components, the ID. Polo GTI offers passengers more interior space than the Polo GTI with combustion engine. The luggage compartment capacity increases from 351 litres to 441 litres. When the rear seat backrests are folded down, up to 1,240 litres are available. A detachable tow bar is available as an option. With a nose weight of 75 kg, it is also suitable for a bike carrier carrying two e-bikes. Equipment for individual requirements. The range of optional equipment includes a panoramic glass sunroof, electrically adjustable 12-way front seats with pneumatic massage function and a 425 watt sound system from Harman Kardon. A specially developed 19-inch premium sports tyre is also available for particularly sporty drivers. Volkswagen offers the new generation of “Connected Travel Assist” as an option. Within its system limits, the system assists with lateral and longitudinal guidance. It can also detect red traffic lights and brake the ID. Polo GTI to a standstill. Audi A2 e-tron: Rethinking efficiency

The Audi A2 e-tron puts efficiency at the center of attention. With energy consumption of 12.8 kWh/100 km according to WLTP, it consumes less energy than any other series-production model from the brand before it. In the interior, the vehicle combines versatility with new digital services and is deliberately tailored to the needs of European customers. Developed in Germany and built in Ingolstadt, the A2 e-tron demonstrates how Audi is becoming more efficient itself: the new electric model was developed significantly faster and intelligently makes continued use of existing production structures. Order books open in fall 2026, with the first deliveries beginning in December. “The A2 e-tron is more than a new model: It represents Audi’s renewal. It shows how we are rethinking premium for Europe: using resources more intelligently without compromising on quality, technology, or customer experience. Developed for the needs of our European customers and built in Ingolstadt, it demonstrates our ambition to shape the future of premium mobility.” Audi CEO Gernot Döllner Efficiency in focus The A2 e-tron was developed for customers who do not want to make compromises in everyday life. They expect an electric car that combines low operating costs, long range, and generous space with modern technology. That is exactly what this vehicle is designed for. The A2 e-tron achieves its particularly low energy consumption through the interaction of numerous measures. Improved aerodynamics reduce air resistance to a minimum. With a drag coefficient of 0.24, the A2 e-tron delivers the best value in Audi’s compact segment. Clear, aerodynamically optimized surfaces and carefully integrated details define the exterior. These include a controllable cooling-air intake and a largely enclosed underbody. The newly developed aero wheels and so-called gap reducers make a further contribution. Integrated into the wheel-arch trim, they reduce the gap between the wheel and wheel housing. Wing-shaped electric door handles with haptic sensors blend into the side line and provide a particularly convenient operating experience. Energy intelligently used Tailored to customers’ requirements, the A2 e-tron offers a choice of four power levels. They range from 125 kW and 350 Nm3 in the entry-level variant to 240 kW and 545 Nm4 in the top model. Depending on the power level, one of three battery sizes 52, 61, or 84 kWh (gross battery capacity) – is used. Four recuperation levels, including one-pedal driving via selector lever B, round off the efficient powertrain concept. As a complete package, the vehicle with permanently excited synchronous motors and rear-wheel drive can achieve a range of up to 646 kilometers according to WLTP. The A2 e-tron 140 kW5 with the optional efficiency package has a WLTP-measured consumption of 12.8 kWh per 100 kilometers. This makes it the most efficient Audi ever. The A2 e-tron also supports bidirectional charging – the high-voltage battery can not only draw energy from the grid but also selectively supply it to external consumers. For example, the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L)1 function can be used to power e-bikes from a power socket in the trunk or via an adapter at the charging port. In Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, the A2 e-tron can also function as a home battery with suitable DC wall boxes via Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) 2, feeding stored energy back into the household grid. This makes one thing clear: Audi’s new generation of premium electric mobility is defined by technical intelligence and the consistent improvement of the vehicle’s overall efficiency, rather than by larger batteries or more power alone. Spacious on a compact footprint The focus on efficiency continues in the interior. Customers do not simply want electric cars. They want mobility that fits their everyday lives. Despite its compact exterior dimensions, the A2 e-tron offers a spacious and inviting interior. The central design element is the Softwrap - a soft, fabric-covered surface that extends from the instrument panel across the doors and into the rear, creating a welcoming atmosphere. An optional panoramic glass roof with 1.6 square meters of glass floods the interior with light; a special coating also protects occupants from UV radiation. The Fidlock fastening system provides smart organization and modular storage solutions: Audi is the first premium carmaker to integrate the patented magnetic mechanism as standard equipment – one click, and everything is securely in place – from the cup holder to the charging cable bag. Audi connected work includes Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Teams, and an AI-based Work Agent that keeps customers connected to their workday even while on the road. Premium also means using resources intelligently without compromising on quality or customer experience. Audi is taking a new approach to materials in the A2 e-tron as well. Depending on the configuration, the Audi A2 e-tron features more than 300 components made from recycled materials, including steel, aluminum, and plastics. More than 100 components use post-consumer recycled materials. At the same time, Audi is designing components so that they can be recycled and reused more easily at the end of their life cycle. The A2 e-tron paints a picture of how the circular economy is to become an integral part of modern premium mobility in the future. Efficiency in production The A2 e-tron is not only an efficient vehicle; it also represents more efficient development and production processes. Audi brought its entry-level electric model to the road 21 months earlier than comparable predecessor models. This was made possible by streamlined development processes and greater vehicle maturity earlier in pre-series production. The A2 e-tron thus exemplifies how Audi is also advancing its transformation within its own production operations. The A2 e-tron is built at Audi’s home plant in Ingolstadt. There, Audi uses more than 1,200 existing production components and around 250 robots that were already in use for other models. This reduces investment and saves resources. In the “pearl chain” production principle, Audi is also introducing a new form of factory control in Ingolstadt that has already been used successfully at the Neckarsulm plant. The fixed sequence of customer orders enables more efficient processes, reduces complexity, and cuts the effort required for storage and sequencing. Pricing and market launch Audi has tailored its new fully electric entry-level model specifically to the needs of European customers. High efficiency, generous space, and digital services. Developed in Germany and built in Ingolstadt. The A2 e-tron can be ordered starting September 10, 2026, and the first vehicles will be at Audi partners from December 2026. Starting price in Germany for the most efficient Audi ever: 38,200 euros. Article source: www.audi.com

Škoda Octavia turns 30: Three decades of a brand icon

Škoda Auto is marking the 30th anniversary of the modern-generation Octavia, which entered production on 3 September 1996. Since then, the model has played a central role in the development of the Mladá Boleslav-based carmaker following its integration into the Volkswagen Group, combining quality and practicality with proven Volkswagen Group technology. Today, the fourth generation of this best-selling model is produced in Mladá Boleslav, Kvasiny and Kostanay, Kazakhstan. Almost 7.9 million units have been produced over the past three decades. “The Octavia has been an icon of the Škoda brand for three decades. As Combi or Liftback, it has consistently delivered what customers prefer: outstanding space, practicality, safety, and features at an exceptional value. In many ways, the Octavia defined the Škoda ambition to offer more than expected. This has resulted in the Octavia powering our international growth by earning the trust of generations of customers. While Škoda continues to evolve and expand into new segments, the Octavia remains a powerful symbol of customer-centric innovation and Simply Clever thinking.” Klaus Zellmer, CEO of Škoda Auto Successful revival of a historic model name The decision to revive the historic Octavia name – originally used for a model produced between 1959 and 1971 – was taken during the development of a new vehicle. Work began in 1992, one year after Škoda Auto had joined the Volkswagen Group. Access to the Group’s technology supported the development of a practical car styled by Dirk van Braeckel, then Škoda’s Head of Design. Meanwhile, a new production facility in Mladá Boleslav raised annual capacity from 90,000 to 350,000 vehicles. The first-generation Škoda Octavia liftback, with a 528-litre boot, was unveiled on 4 April 1996; series production began on 3 September that year. The Octavia Combi followed in March 1998 and was joined by an all-wheel-drive version in 1999, further expanding the model’s versatility. The year 2000 saw the debut of the very first Octavia RS. It proved a true success story: in total, 1.44 million units were produced, and selected variants remained in production until 2010, even though the second modern Octavia generation had already been unveiled in 2004. Subsequent generations build on the model’s strengths The second generation built on the Octavia’s established strengths, offering even more interior space, with its boot capacity increased by 32 litres, along with enhanced practicality and new technologies such as the DSG dual-clutch transmission. By the end of production in 2013, 2.6 million units had been built. Built from 2012 to 2020, the third-generation Škoda Octavia achieved a similarly strong production volume and introduced advanced driver assistance systems and technologies previously reserved for vehicles in higher segments. At the same time, it featured a lighter body, optimised TSI and TDI engines and a GreenLine version. This incorporated technologies designed to reduce fuel consumption and emissions, including special underbody panelling, brake energy recuperation and low-rolling-resistance tyres. The third modern Octavia generation received a major facelift in 2017, featuring a redesigned front end with split headlights, infotainment screens with a glass-design finish and upgraded assistance systems. Fourth generation: Continuing a legacy of success The current, fourth-generation Octavia made its debut in November 2019 in liftback and Combi body styles. Following an update in early 2024, it now offers further improved connectivity and safety, with up to ten airbags and driver assistance systems including Attention and Drowsiness Assist. A new algorithm helps assess the driver’s level of fatigue more accurately. The Octavia remains a popular choice among private and business customers across international markets and has received numerous prestigious international accolades, including multiple Best Cars awards and the Golden Steering Wheel. Double delight for Volkswagen at What Car? Electric Car Awards

Volkswagen is celebrating two wins in the 2026 What Car? Electric Car Awards. The ID. 7 Tourer was named Best Electric Estate and the Passat picked up the award for Best Used Hybrid Estate. The ID.7 Tourer has won a string of awards since it was unveiled in 2024, and this latest accolade is a repeat of its success at the 2026 What Car? Awards, as well as in last year’s What Car? Electric Car Awards and What Car? Awards. Its combination of comfort and practicality in a sleek, aerodynamic design – not to mention a range of up to 420 miles (WLTP combined) – continues to impress car experts and, more importantly, customers. “Good estates are synonymous with practicality, and – among the growing ranks of electric options – the Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer is the estatiest of them all,” said Steve Huntingford, What Car? Editor, after this latest accolade was announced. “It has a vast boot that shames much more expensive options. There’s loads of space for occupants, too, and the ID.7 offers both a calm ride and a long range between charges.” The Volkswagen Passat is another serial winner when it comes to awards. This latest recognition adds to the Professional Driver Estate Car of the Year accolade in January this year, and no less than eight awards throughout 2025 from What Car?, the Caravan and Motorhome Club and the Camping and Caravanning Club. Commenting on its Best Used Hybrid Estate title, What Car? Editor Steve Huntingford added: “The latest Volkswagen Passat is a capacious and refined load-lugger with a smart interior. And while the ride is very comfortable, this hasn’t been achieved by sacrificing composed handling. Add all this together, and the Passat makes a hugely compelling used buy.” Volkswagen is currently the biggest-selling car brand in the UK – a position it has held for the past five years. A total of 178,607 new Volkswagen passenger vehicles were registered in the UK in 2025, which equated to a leading market share of 8.84 per cent. In May this year Volkswagen was crowned Electric Car Brand of the Year by Which?. Famous for championing consumer choice for more than 60 years, Which? praised Volkswagen for demonstrating excellent electric vehicle reliability ratings in surveys, and for showing that its cars are innovative, safe and electrically efficient. Audi Environmental Foundation, Audi do Brasil, and Litro de Luz bring light to the Pantanal

São Paulo, July 22, 2026 – For the fifth time, Audi do Brasil, the NGO Litro de Luz Brasil, and the Audi Environmental Foundation have provided selfmade solar lamps to residents of a rural Brazilian region lacking a permanent power supply — this time in the Pantanal region of Mato Grosso do Sul. From June 4 to 10, volunteers and Audi do Brasil employees worked alongside residents to assemble the lights under the guidance of Litro de Luz Brasil. By the end of the campaign, 178 compact lighting units had been handed over, comprising 158 solar lamps and 20 solar-powered streetlights. A total of 158 families across eight communities benefited from the initiative. “Participating and witnessing the residents’ reactions firsthand when they receive the lights is a wonderful experience. The project opens up new perspectives for people. The Pantanal, with its rich flora and fauna, remains largely undeveloped, making such mobile solutions all the more significant,” says Karine Fernandes, Head of People and Culture at Audi do Brasil. “The partnership with Litro de Luz reinforces our commitment to helping spread renewable energy and fostering sustainable social development. We have followed every stage of the initiative — from site selection to the final outcomes — and are deeply moved by the impact we are making in the region,” says Anton Poll, Managing Director of the Audi Environmental Foundation. “Over the five years of our partnership with Audi, the project has gained momentum and increasingly attracted volunteer engagement. Every year is special, and this year we once again demonstrated the local communities’ potential to act as guardians and drivers of a sustainable environment for future generations,” emphasizes Rodrigo Eidy, President of Litro de Luz Brasil. Litro de Luz selected the region following consultations with local authorities and held preparatory workshops to train local ambassadors, who are now responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the lights. Audi Environmental Foundation and Litro de Luz: a successful partnership Over the past five years, the partnership between Audi do Brasil, the Audi Environmental Foundation, and Litro de Luz has had a significant impact on the communities visited. The project has been implemented in the Pantanal region (2026), the Amazon region (2022 and 2025), Cananéia and Ilha do Cardoso (2023), and the Lower Xingu region (2024). In 2022, around 200 communities in the Amazon received 30 solar-powered streetlights and more than 150 lamps. A total of 650 local residents benefited from the initiative. In 2023, the project took place on the southern coast of São Paulo; around 40 volunteers from Audi do Brasil and the non-governmental organization (NGO) Litro de Luz provided 140 solar-powered lamps and streetlights in the towns of Cananéia and Ilha do Cardoso. In 2024, the Litro de Luz project was implemented in the Xingu region (Mato Grosso). Approximately 700 local residents benefited from the installation of 170 lights. In 2025, the initiative was carried out in the communities of Santa Izabel, São Francisco de Aruaú, and Nova Esperança do Apuaú, located along the Rio Negro and its tributaries in the Amazon. A total of 199 solar-powered lamps and streetlights were provided to 177 families in the region. In 2026, activities took place in the Pantanal region of Mato Grosso do Sul in the communities of Aldeia Uberaba, Barra do São Lourenço, Amolar, Aterro do Binega, Chané, Bonfim, Paraguai Mirim, and Ilha Verde. A total of 178 lights were provided to 158 families. In total, the project has supported 2,985 people since its inception. Furthermore, 39 volunteers from Audi do Brasil and 95 volunteers from the NGO Litro de Luz Brasil participated during this period. Litro de Luz and sustainable lighting Litro de Luz develops three of its own technologies for these lighting solutions: solar lamps, solar streetlights, and indoor lighting systems. The solar lamp features a PVC structure, a PET bottle, a battery, and LED lights; it is sized to facilitate mobility at night — both inside and outside community members’ homes — and includes a solar panel for charging the battery. The indoor lamps consists of an LED module, a solar panel, a battery, and a control panel. Litro de Luz involves the residents themselves to put the lights into operation and maintain them. Local ‘ambassadors’ within the communities are trained to maintain constant contact with the NGO and ensure the systems receive the necessary attention during use. In addition to routine maintenance, batteries that lose capacity and become unusable are returned for recycling, and Litro de Luz replaces them immediately. Article source: www.audi.com

Simply Clever for summer: smart Škoda features that make every trip easier

Summer holidays, weekend trips and outdoor activities often call for extra storage space, charging options and practical everyday solutions. Škoda’s brand-defining Simply Clever features provide a wide range of useful functions across the model range, reflecting the brand’s customer-centric approach. The portfolio continues to expand as electric mobility develops, with new additions including Vehicle-to-Load, Camp Mode and wellbeing functions for the all-new Škoda Peaq. Among Škoda’s hallmarks, Simply Clever features are designed to make everyday driving and longer journeys easier. They are especially useful in summer, when owners often carry more luggage and equipment for holidays, day trips and outdoor activities. Hydration, small items and a tidy interior Bottle holders in the doors of current Škoda models can accommodate bottles of up to 1.5 litres. Depending on the model, rear passengers can store 1.5-litre, one-litre or 0.5-litre bottles. Additional storage in the rear tunnel and a waste bin in the door pocket help keep the interior tidy. The Easy Open cupholder in the centre console holds a 0.5-litre PET bottle in place, allowing it to be opened with one hand. Phone charging even on hot days Depending on the specification, Škoda vehicles offer up to four USB-C ports with outputs of up to 45 W for charging phones, tablets, headphones and power banks. The ventilated Phone Box helps prevent phones from overheating during wireless charging and is available depending on the model. In the Kodiaq and Peaq, the driver and front passenger can charge their phones wirelessly at the same time. When a trip takes an unexpected turn The umbrella stored in the driver’s door – and, in some models, also in the front passenger door – remains one of Škoda’s best-known Simply Clever features. It is kept securely stowed and within easy reach. The MyŠkoda app also includes an AI-based trip planner to make planning journeys simpler. Comfort for rear passengers Rear-seat passengers benefit from storage pockets on the backs of the front seats, with dedicated space for items such as a phone, book, tablet or headphones. Additional USB-C ports are also available. In the Octavia and Superb, the Sleep Package provides extra comfort on longer journeys. Keeping the boot tidy The net programme, bag hooks and Cargo elements help keep items securely in place in the boot. Bags can be hung from hooks, while smaller items can be held in nets or secured with Cargo elements. Compartments for warning vests in the door panels keep this safety equipment close at hand. Power on the go As electric mobility develops, Škoda continues to expand its range of Simply Clever solutions and has enabled new ways to use energy and improve comfort on board. Bidirectional charging is one of the new additions to Škoda’s electric models for the current model year. Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) uses energy from the traction battery to power external electrical devices, either through a 230 V socket in the boot or via an adapter from Škoda Genuine Accessories connected to the vehicle’s charging socket. This allows users to charge phones, laptops, cameras and power banks, as well as devices such as travel kettles and e-bikes. Camp Mode for overnight stays Camp Mode is designed for occasional overnight stays in the vehicle. Once activated through the MyŠkoda app, it maintains the selected interior temperature throughout the night and provides a continuous supply of fresh air. It requires a battery charge of at least 30%, a 12 V starter battery in good condition and a stable internet connection. Relax and recharge in the Peaq Available as an option for the all-new Peaq, the Relax Package makes its debut in the Škoda range and turns the vehicle into a comfortable place to relax during long journeys, charging stops and other breaks. It includes electrically adjustable, heated AGR-certified seats with a massage function, electrically adjustable ergonomic leg rests and, in Suite interiors, seat ventilation. The package also includes a premium Sonos sound system and a Wellbeing app with six modes, including options for relaxation, stretching and re-energising. Depending on the selected mode, the app adjusts the climate control, ambient lighting and seat massage functions. Other comfort features include cushions on the front head restraints and a foldable table in the centre console. Extra storage under the bonnet In the seven-seater version of the Peaq, the roller boot cover can be stored under the bonnet when the third row of seats is in use. The front storage compartment also provides space for charging cables and a charging-cable cleaner, which helps to keep the boot organised and charging equipment separate from personal belongings. The availability of individual features varies by model, equipment and market. Article source: www.skoda-storyboard.com

New Volkswagen ID.3 Neo available to order from 13 August

The all-electric Volkswagen ID.3 Neo compact hatchback goes on sale in the UK on Thursday 13 August. Prices start from £33,080 (on-the-road recommended retail price including VAT), and all versions are eligible for the Government’s £1,500 Electric Car Grant. The ID.3 Neo’s exterior design is significantly enhanced, while its interior and drive systems are all new. The car features the very latest technologies and software to enhance performance and customer experience. New features on the ID.3 Neo include one-pedal driving, where the vehicle recuperates energy into the battery when braking until it comes to a standstill, and enhanced Travel Assist with traffic light detection. The car also has Volkswagen’s new Innovision infotainment system, which promises improved usability and performance, seamless device integration, and an in-car shop for additional apps and features such as games. Additionally, customers can order an optional vehicle-to-load adapter, which can be used to power external devices such as electric grills and e-bikes directly from the high-voltage battery. See the Volkswagen.co.uk website for more about the ID.3 Neo. What are the top five highlights of the Volkswagen ID.3 Neo? Exterior design The ID.3 Neo significantly enhances what was already a confident and modern design with the previous ID.3. Its body is divided into three horizontal levels, which creates a new clarity and an appealing appearance. Volkswagen is also introducing a new colour – Norwegian sea blue – and the removal of the black roof and tailgate makes this the sleekest ID.3 model to date. Redeveloped LED headlights have a narrow and charismatic look, and dominate the new front design. The headlights are connected by a wide, glass-covered crossbar, the lower half of which is continuously illuminated on Style trims. The centrally integrated VW logo is illuminated and the headlights are topped by narrow LED strips designed to look like eyebrows atop the traditional Volkswagen ‘smile’. The changes align the ID.3 Neo to other new-generation Volkswagen models such as the Tiguan and ID. Polo. Interior design Volkswagen has listened to customer feedback and has fundamentally rethought the interior of the ID.3 Neo. Ergonomic and easy-to-understand controls, handy buttons and intuitive rotary knobs improve day-to-day usability, while fewer black gloss elements echo the cabin in Volkswagen’s range-topping electric car, the ID.7, and reduce the appearance of fingerprints. The dash, door panels and seats all feature new materials for a touch of extra luxury, while the 10.25-inch driver’s display and 12.9-inch infotainment screen can be switched to retro mode – just as they can in the forthcoming Volkswagen ID. Polo and ID. Cross. Straightforward line-up The ID.3 Neo is available to order in the UK from 13 August in three trims – Life, Style and a limited-run Style Launch Edition; their prices start from £33,080, £38,500 and £39,750 respectively (on-the-road recommended retail prices including VAT). The Life trim focuses on function and comfort. Standard features include adaptive cruise control, parking sensors, a rear-view camera, a 12.9-inch infotainment system with satellite navigation and IDA voice assistant, and wireless charging with AppConnect. Style promises further sporty design elements and more technology as standard, including Keyless entry and start/stop, heated front seats and steering wheel, IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights, privacy glass, and Sports comfort front seats with ArtVelours upholstery. The Style Launch Edition adds features such as a head-up display, panoramic glass roof, electric front seats with massage function, Travel Assist 3.0 and Park Assist Pro (for remote and memory parking) to its already impressive list of standard equipment. Efficiency The ID.3 Neo marks the introduction of three new and efficient batteries by Volkswagen: 50 kW, 58 kW and 79 kW. Each battery has a longer range than its equivalent predecessor – up to 390 miles in the case of the 79 kW battery – and DC charging from 100 to 183 kWh means topping-up the battery from 10 to 80 per cent takes as little as 26 minutes. Powerful software New control options, optimised assistance functions and smart services support ID.3 Neo drivers on the road, during charging and in daily use. Highlights include: Connected Travel Assist: as an option, the ID.3 Neo is one of the first vehicles in its class to have an assistance system that automatically stops the car at red traffic lights Vehicle-to-load (V2L): optional adapter turns the charging socket into a 3.6 kW power source for external devices Lane Assist: detects when the car unintentionally leaves its lane at speeds above 65 km/h (40.4 mph). The system uses automatic steering interventions to help the driver stay in lane and vibrates the steering wheel as a warning if lane markings are crossed Article source: www.vwpress.co.uk

Brand Group Core boosts operating result in first half – new Core Executive Committee strengthens cross-brand cooperation

The Brand Group Core (BGC), the organizational entity combining the volume brands of the Volkswagen Group, recorded an operating result of 3.61 billion euros in the first half of 2026, 4.5 percent more than in the corresponding prior-year period. Year-on-year, the operating margin improved slightly to 4.9 percent. In an environment that continued to be characterized by US import tariffs and growing competitive pressure, consistent cost control and reinforced cooperation had a positive impact on the half-year result. Nevertheless, geopolitical crises continue to have a negative impact on markets and supply chains. Regulatory requirements and barriers to trade are growing. In addition, there are far-reaching market upheavals throughout the world. The BGC intends to position itself even more efficiently and robustly and is aiming to achieve further cost savings and to reduce the complexity of processes, structures and products. For this reason, the newly created Core Executive Committee, comprising the CEOs of the volume brands (Thomas Schäfer/Volkswagen, Klaus Zellmer/Škoda, Markus Haupt/ SEAT&CUPRA, Stefan Mecha/VW Commercial Vehicles) and the heads of the BGC functions Finance (David Powels), Procurement (Karsten Schnake), Production (Christian Vollmer) and Technical Development (Kai Grünitz), started work at the beginning of July. This is connected with a changed management structure with clearly assigned competences and growing regional responsibility in the volume brand group of the Volkswagen Group. “The results of the first half show that our cooperation as a brand group is effective and is targeted towards joint success. This approach is increasingly bearing fruit. Nevertheless, geopolitical crises and far-reaching market upheavals continue to have an adverse impact on our business. With the new Core Executive Committee, we are therefore taking the next organizational step from July onwards: Clear responsibilities, slimmer management bodies and optimized cooperation in the fields of production, procurement and development. We know that the global challenges will continue to grow – we can therefore only be successful through consistent cooperation and leveraging synergies.” Thomas Schäfer, Member of the Group Board of Management, CEO Volkswagen Passenger Cars Brand “The financial picture for the first half of 2026 is mixed. Thanks to consistent work on costs, especially as a result of our performance programs, we were able to compensate for special items such as costs in connection with the discontinuation of ID.4 production in North America and to record a slight improvement in our operating result compared with the first half of 2025. However, the fact that the increase in sales revenue lagged behind the rise in unit sales shows just how challenging the economic environment is. The steady growth in competition and the new realities of the global economy are calling upon us to make our business model significantly more robust in order to be well-prepared for the future and sustainably successful. To achieve sustained improvement in our competitiveness by 2030, we must and will tap the significant additional potentials available in terms of cost, complexity and cooperation. Where we are steering together as a brand group, the efficiency improvements and scale effects are now becoming increasingly apparent.” David Powels, CFO Volkswagen Passenger Cars Brand & Brand Group Core Review of the first half of 2026 In the first half of 2026, the Brand Group Core recorded an improved operating result, demonstrating that the efficiency programs initiated within the volume brands are gaining traction. Nevertheless, the results achieved still lagged significantly behind the brand group’s own ambitions. With a rise of 8.2% in unit sales, Škoda achieved the most dynamic growth within the brand group. SEAT&CUPRA improved its operating result, continuing the turnaround of the previous quarter. Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles recorded a significantly higher operating result compared with the prior-year period, with a slight fall in unit sales. In North America, the market environment remains difficult. Sales promotion measures, mix effects and costs in connection with the discontinuation of ID.4 production in Chattanooga were the chief reasons why the operating result of the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand was slightly below the figure for the first half of 2025. The Electric Urban Car Family is giving an especially positive signal. The small car family introduced only a few weeks ago has been very well received by customers. More than 70,000 orders have already been received for the attractive entry-level models of VW, Škoda and CUPRA, although only three of the four models planned, the CUPRA Raval, ID. Polo and Škoda Epiq, are available as yet. The operating margin of the Brand Group Core ran at 4.9%. Eliminating the special items mentioned above, the operating performance of the Brand Group Core was 5.9%. New quality of cooperation within the Brand Group Core from July The Brand Group Core is consistently continuing its strategy of efficiency improvement and closer cooperation. On the basis of a new cooperation agreement, the organizational linkage of key BGC functions is changing from July 1, with effects on the structures and processes of the participating volume brands Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Škoda, SEAT&CUPRA and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. The new board, the “Core Executive Committee” (CEC), which is comparable with a brand Board of Management at the Brand Group Core level, has now officially assumed its duties. The implementation of this new board is a key step in achieving a new quality of cooperation within the Brand Group Core. A cooperation agreement concluded jointly lays down binding transparency, information and liaison obligations between the brands and functions. This creates a seamless logic, with clear roles and responsibilities across all brands. In future, the yardstick for cooperation will be the overall optimum for the brand group together with a new culture of joint decision-making. At the same time, the brands Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Škoda, SEAT/CUPRA and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles will remain autonomous as regards market responsibilities and brand identity. This new structure is a response to growing competitive pressure and the increasing financial pressure which the brand group faces. With its agreed strategy “Future Production Governance”, especially the production business area is giving a highly concrete demonstration of how the new steering model functions. The goal is a clear regionally oriented steering approach; in other words, responsibility will be pooled where it is most effective, i.e. in the regions of the world, near to the plants and near to business. In the first half of the year, key structures for this approach were created. The regional managements have been established and are assuming end-to-end responsibility for their production networks. At the same time, key steps were implemented within the organization: the Central Europe region was repositioned; comparable structures are also in place for the Iberian Peninsula and for Central Europe. The groundwork has now been laid: fewer interfaces, clearer responsibilities and significantly greater steering capability within the regions. Away from complex, separate structures for the brands towards an integrated, high-performance positioning. In addition, the reorientation of the steering model will provide a cumulative savings potential for the Brand Group Core of 1 billion euros up to 2030 in production alone. Upgrade for Audi A3 models

The A3 model series has been widely popular for generations. Now, the compact class is getting an upgrade, focusing on the redesigned interior with a panoramic display as well as a wider range of driver-assist systems. The A3 series is becoming more capable and more digital. Whether it’s a Sportback, Sedan, or allstreet; a traditional gasoline or diesel engine; a plug-in hybrid; or the sporty S3 and RS 3 models: the A3 lineup offers immense variety to meet a wide range of needs. Going forward, all models will feature a new interior and enhanced equipment. Interior: a modern panorama A3 models will now come with a completely new cockpit layout. The centerpiece is the curved display, comprising the 11.9-inch Audi virtual cockpit and the 12.8-inch MMI touch display. The dashboard complements this redesign: the decorative inlay is wider than before and forms a continuous horizontal line from the instrument cluster to the passenger door. There are four material options to choose from, namely carbon fiber, Dinamica microfiber, and two textile fabrics: “Light crepe” is now also available alongside the familiar “Impressum black.” The center console also has a new look: the cell phone tray is now oriented toward the driver’s seat and offers 25-watt wireless charging. All steering wheels in the upgraded A3 models feature a physical scroll wheel integrated into the multifunction buttons. Regardless of the features, customers can choose between three different steering wheel designs: two double-spoke versions and a three-spoke, flat-top-and-bottom design for the S line and S models. Assistance systems: reliable support in everyday driving The range of driver assist systems is expanding significantly. Audi is grouping the key systems into a new three-tier package structure: Tech, Tech plus, and Tech pro. They make everyday driving easier, improving both comfort and safety. The core system is the adaptive cruise assist plus. It combines adaptive cruise control with active lane guidance at speeds of up to 210 km/h. For vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission, the system assists with longitudinal and lateral guidance, taking road markings, roadside structures, and surrounding traffic into account. On highways, the system can change lanes by itself when the turn signal is triggered. As a new feature, adaptive cruise assist plus enables automatic braking at red lights. If the vehicle has not come to a complete stop, the A3 will automatically drive on when the light turns green. For the first time, the longitudinal and lane guidance systems also use swarm data, meaning the vehicle adjusts its own speed to the average speed of the road. With online data, adaptive cruise assist can maintain the vehicle’s lane even without visible road markings, increasing comfort in rural and urban traffic. Use of online data for adaptive cruise assist is included for three years after vehicle delivery. Customers can then extend the term for a fee. Four wide-angle surround-view cameras provide a 360-degree image of the vehicle’s immediate surroundings for easy parking and maneuvering. The image is shown in 3D on the MMI, where multiple views can be selected and adjusted via the touch display. For example, there is a fully pannable and zoomable 3D exterior view, including a virtual bird's-eye perspective of the vehicle and its surroundings. Helpful guide lines make it easier to stay oriented while maneuvering. When pulling into a car wash, for instance, a 3D view of the vehicle along with on-screen guide lines helps the driver position the A3 perfectly between the side rails. In addition, park assist plus and pro use the cameras to detect parking lines, allowing the vehicle to pull in and out of parking spaces on its own. The A3 handles steering, acceleration, braking, and gear shifting. Once the driver has activated the feature on the MMI touch display, they can sit back and relax while the vehicle is automatically guided into the parking space. With park assist pro, a remote function is included. This means the driver can exit the vehicle before parking or wait until the vehicle has pulled out of the space before getting in. This is particularly useful in tight parking spaces, whether parallel or perpendicular to the road. The A3 performs the maneuver independently as soon as the driver initiates the process in the myAudi app on their smartphone. Another new feature in the A3 models is trained parking, which allows the vehicle to memorize specific parking maneuvers. If a carport or garage is difficult to access, the A3 only needs to be trained once and will be able to park automatically from then on. The vehicle steers, accelerates, brakes, and shifts gears by itself. The same applies to exiting a parking space. The MMI can store up to five parking maneuvers over a distance of 50 meters. Each maneuver can be given its own name. Article source: www.audi.com

Looking back at 20 years of the Tiguan: from concept car to a global bestseller The history of the Tiguan did not start on the road, but on a stage. Volkswagen presented the Concept Tiguan – a compact SUV with a sporty design and rugged characteristics – at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November 2006. The reaction was overwhelming, so it wasn’t long before a decision was made to start series production. Volkswagen presented the first-generation Tiguan at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt in 2007, followed by the market launch in the same year. The name – a made-up word that merges ‘Tiger’ and the German word ‘Leguan’ (iguana) – was the winner of a readers’ poll by Auto Bild magazine. Right from the outset, the first generation impressed with a modern space concept, optional 4MOTION all-wheel drive and a wide range of engine options. The Tiguan struck a chord with the times: demand for compact SUVs was growing rapidly, and Volkswagen had the ideal overall package in its range with the Tiguan. With the second generation (from 2016 onwards), Volkswagen introduced a number of significant enhancements: the Tiguan grew in size, received a new design, and also offered more space, greater comfort and state-of-the-art assist systems. In 2017, it became the best-selling model across the Volkswagen Group – a status it has maintained ever since. The Tiguan Allspace was launched in parallel as an extended version for customers with greater space requirements. A particularly sporty version, the Tiguan R, made its debut in 2020 with 235 kW (320 PS) and all-wheel drive. The product line already grew dynamically in the initial years: annual production rose from 120,000 vehicles in the debut year 2007 to almost 911,000 units in 2019. The third and current generation (launched in 2024) is continuing the success story with a brand-new design, new cockpit landscape with large touchscreen, a host of assist systems and optional features from the luxury class. The drive spectrum ranges from TDI and TSI engines to eTSI drive systems (with 48-volt technology) and plug-in hybrid drive systems (eHybrid) with electric ranges of over 100 kilometres. Volkswagen is currently working once more on powerful R variant. The top-of-the-range engines are equipped with 4MOTION all-wheel drive as standard and can be used as a towing vehicle with a towing capacity of up to 2,300 kg. The Tiguan thus remains what it has been for 20 years: versatile, comfortable, high-quality and always in step with the times. The model is currently produced at three locations – in Germany (Wolfsburg), Mexico (Puebla) and China (Anting) – and is offered for sale in over 60 countries worldwide. Four times triumph: Audi Concept C raises the bar

Audi sets new benchmarks with the Concept C. The study has received broad international recognition, confirming Audi’s creative and forward looking design approach. Massimo Frascella, Chief Creative Officer, AUDI AG: “All these awards are a powerful recognition of the creativity, talent, and passion of the team. Škoda Peaq: Comprehensive testing in extreme conditions

The Škoda Peaq, the Czech car manufacturer’s new flagship model, will celebrate its world premiere on 23 June. During its development, the electric SUV, which is based on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB+ platform, underwent extensive testing. Prototypes covered more than 1.5 million kilometres across a wide range of climate zones and conditions on three continents. The demanding real-world testing was complemented by virtual development methods. “The Škoda Peaq is the result of an extensive development and testing process, during which our engineers verified the functionality and durability of all key components and design elements. We tested the Peaq extensively both in laboratories, including climate chambers and wind tunnels, and in real-world conditions – from the heat of the desert to freezing environments 200 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle, where temperatures can drop to −40 °C. The aim was to verify that all components function correctly and reliably even in these extreme situations.” Johannes Neft, Škoda Auto Board Member for Technical Development The test prototypes covered more than 1.5 million kilometres and were closely monitored by both the development and quality departments. In addition to Europe, the prototypes were tested in Africa and North America. Extensive virtual testing using high-performance computing supported the simulation of a wide range of scenarios. Every detail tested in frost and heat During development, Škoda specialists focused on situations that Peaq customers might encounter, paying attention to even the smallest details. In conditions well within the Arctic Circle, at temperatures below −30 °C, tests included rapid window defrosting and efficient interior heating. Particular attention was also paid to vehicle behaviour on snow and ice, with the aim of achieving optimal grip, stability and reliable operation of the safety systems. In arid desert environments, Škoda Peaq test vehicles were exposed to intense sunlight for 12 months to assess paint quality and the durability of plastic components. Driving tests in extreme heat also placed heavy demands on the brakes, chassis and cooling systems. On dusty and gravel roads, over which the Škoda Peaq covered thousands of kilometres, engineers validated the interior sealing and the resistance of metal and plastic body components to flying stones. Even in extreme desert heat, the air conditioning system was able to cool the cabin quickly. Flagship model boasting outstanding comfort and Simply Clever features The new Škoda Peaq accommodates up to seven passengers and offers high driving comfort, balanced driving characteristics and low interior noise levels, creating the ideal conditions to enjoy the brand-new sound system by Sonos. From a technical standpoint, the Škoda Peaq makes full use of the Volkswagen Group’s latest MEB+ platform, featuring new, efficient electric motors, batteries enabling a range of over 600 km, and an adaptive DCC chassis. A wide range of Simply Clever features enhance practicality in the Škoda Peaq, including wipers with integrated washers introduced for the first time in a Škoda model. Volkswagen T-Roc named Best Car for Caravans up to 1,300kg in What Car? Tow Car Awards 2026

The Volkswagen T-Roc has been named the Best Car for Caravans up to 1,300kg in the prestigious What Car? Tow Car Awards 2026. Experts from What Car? and the Camping and Caravanning Club handed the award to the T-Roc (with 1.5 eTSI 150 PS engine and automatic direct-shift gearbox) after putting it through a series of rigorous tests. They included lane changing, towing stability, emergency manoeuvres, braking, hill climbs and reversing; cars were also scored for their overall practicality, value, safety and running costs. The accolade comes just six months after the all-new Volkswagen T-Roc went on sale in the UK, and adds to its other What Car? award this year: Best Small SUV. “It’s clear the Volkswagen T-Roc is the new benchmark for small tow cars; anyone with a lightweight caravan or trailer to tow will be delighted with the T-Roc,” said What Car? Editor Steve Huntingford. “The Volkswagen T-Roc is stable at speed while towing and copes brilliantly with emergency manoeuvres. It is longer than the old model with more space inside, which makes it a great choice for families looking for a compact but roomy car. It is comfortable, practical and punches above its weight as a tow car.” The second-generation T-Roc is available in the UK with Life, Style and R-Line trims, and priced from £31,635 (on-the-road recommended retail price including VAT). It builds on the success of its predecessor with expressive design details, bold new colours, a high-quality interior and even more space for luggage and passengers. Assist systems and technologies from higher vehicle classes are included and, in the future, it will feature a completely new full hybrid powertrain. The T-Roc is one of the most popular models in the Volkswagen range. More than two million units have been sold so far globally since its debut in 2017, making it Volkswagen’s most successful SUV after the brand’s global best seller – the Tiguan. Volkswagen has been the most popular brand with UK car buyers for the past five years. A total of 178,607 new Volkswagen passenger vehicles were registered in the UK in 2025, according to figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), equating to a leading market share of 8.84 per cent.
